Goethe-Zentrum Kampala and Maisha Film Lab are happy to present to you the 2nd edition of the Ngalabi Short Film Festival!
This edition will boast rich catalogue of films from all over the African continent; with over four award-winning shorts from Kenya, Morocco, & Ethiopia; and two world premieres for Ugandan shorts: ‘Idi Amin’s Boat’ and ‘The Bad Mexican’. In addition, the festival will screen a selection of short films from both Germany and the United Kingdom, among them the Oscar nominated ‘Watu Wote’. There will be Q&A sessions with the filmmakers during the screenings, so you don’t want to miss a chance to meet and interact with Africa’s emerging generation of filmmakers.
The Ngalabi Short Film Festival will be continuing its mandate to promote short film as an art form in Sub-Saharan Africa. Through the festival we hope to showcase the wide variety of genres and styles that the medium has to offer with the hope that it will demonstrate short film’s viability as a storytelling tool in the region.
