Seminar Description
African Writers Trust will hold the 3rd Edition of its popular Informative Seminar series under the theme Self Publishing in Africa: What You Need to Know. It will take place from 14thto 16th June 2024 at Hotsprings Villas, Kampala, Uganda.
Discussions will be conducted by leading experts in the book industry and will revolve around:
- The self-publishing model in Africa: What works and what doesn’t.
- Understanding the business of trading in rights
- Working with literary agents
- How to make more money from self-published works
- Personal experiences of successful self- published authors
Who can participate
The Seminar is open to self-published authors, writers, publishers, bloggers, readers, book enthusiasts and those who wish to gain knowledge and experience about the self-publishing model.
Duration
The Seminar will be held over 3 days, from 14th to 16th June, 2024.
Venue
Hotsprings Villas Hotel, Kampala, Uganda.
Benefits

Fee
Each participant will be required to pay USD 290. This will cover:
- Full board accommodation at Hotsprings Villas Hotel for 2 nights inclusive of meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- A Welcome Dinner to facilitate networking, partnerships building, and future collaborations with peers and key industry players
- Access to all Seminar sessions
- A copy of Whispers from Vera by Goretti Kyomuhendo
- Seminar materials & handouts
