On November 14, 2024, the Goethe Zentrum/Ugandan German Cultural Society (GZK/UGCS), in collaboration with Sisi Film Lab, hosted a screening of three short films, followed by a discussion with their directors, moderated by Dilman Dila.

The selection featured diverse genres and themes, offering the audience a rich storytelling experience. The first short film, Please Wait, was a science fiction piece about two hostages, bound by mutual hatred, who must work together to survive. The second, A Thousand Ways to Face Change, was a musical that explored the journey of a polygamist who, after converting to Christianity, faces the difficult decision to divorce two of his three wives. The final film, Asiimwe’s Gift, told the poignant story of a woman in a forced marriage who unexpectedly finds love in an unusual place.

During the discussion, the directors shared insights into their creative processes and experiences in the Sisi Film Lab. The audience was also invited to ask their questions, making engaging conversations. Throughout the event, viewers were captivated by the films, finding moments to relate to, laugh at, and marvel over.
