GZK/UGCS invites you to apply for the Small Project Grant 2025: Are you a Ugandan artist, collective, or art institution with a bold vision? The Small Project Grant 2025 is a funding opportunity created to empower creative projects across Uganda’s vibrant arts sector. The application period is between December 10, 2024 and February 28, 2025.

We welcome applications from individual artists based in Uganda, art collectives, art institutions contributing to Uganda’s cultural landscape. Submit your proposal during the application period. Selected projects will receive funding to bring innovative artistic ideas to life and make a meaningful impact on Uganda’s arts community.

What the Fund Can Support

The Small Project Grant 2025 is designed to be versatile, providing financial assistance for a wide range of creative needs. Whether you’re creating new work, collaborating with others, or completing ongoing projects, this fund empowers artists to push boundaries and explore new dimensions in their creative journeys.

Here’s What the Grant Can Support:

• New Work: Funding for research, production, or presentations of original artistic projects
• Collaborations: Support for joint projects with other artists or collectives
• Ongoing Projects: Assistance to complete works that are already in progress
• Travel: Coverage for costs related to presenting work or networking at regional events and festivals
• Residencies: Partial support for residencies that lack full funding
• Specialized Skills: Fees for experts such as dramaturges, writers, or technical specialists to enhance your project
• Workshops: Funding to invite guest facilitators for skill-building sessions or other developmental workshops

To qualify for the Small Project Grant 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be based in Uganda with a minimum of two years of experience in their artistic field
• Demonstrate administrative capacity to manage receipts and expenses responsibly
• Provide clear evidence of their ability to execute and present the proposed project successfully
