Internship focus and responsibilities

The focus of the internship is to provide the individual with an opportunity to not only learn but also to practically apply what they have learnt so far; the GZK will in turn to provide an environment and tasks that offer responsibility for the various skills the intern possesses.
Under the Language Department, the intern will be based in the GZK Library and shall be responsible for helping in cataloguing and classification of various items; stock-taking and bibliographic work; assisting staff and patrons as a resource person for a number of library-related queries; assisting in digital library initiatives; promoting awareness and appreciation of the library’s services to the patrons; to helping compile item reviews for publicity and performing any other duties that may be assigned in the normal course of work.


What we expect from our Interns

    • The position is open to Ugandan nationals who meet one of the following requirements:
      1. Be enrolled in and a continuing Undergraduate student offering BLIS (2nd or 3rd year) in a recognized, licensed and accredited institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.2
      2. Be a 2020/2021 graduate of BLIS from a recognized, licensed and accredited institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.2
    • In addition, interested candidates need to be:
      • Proficient in the MS Suite (especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
      • Open to meeting and working with a diverse range of individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs as we are multicultural organization.

Academic Credit: For continuing students, the GZK does not provide academic credit, but you may arrange with your school in advance to receive credit.

Program Duration:
Short-term (10 weeks), full Time (5 days a week)
