Your membership card is your golden ticket to every event we organize—film screenings, exhibitions, concerts, performances, cultural celebrations, and more. Just show up and enjoy!
T & C: This benefit applies exclusively to events organized and hosted by the Uganda German Cultural Society/Goethe-Zentrum Kampala. Partner events hosted at our venue qualify for a 10% discount on admission fees (where applicable).
🎨 HOST YOUR OWN EVENT AT OUR SPACE
Got a workshop idea? Want to do a poetry reading? Planning an art showcase or language exchange? Our space is your canvas! Members who are artists, cultural practitioners, or language students can host small gatherings absolutely free.
T & C: Five (5) annual slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Basic technical equipment is included. Additional third-party services e.g sound technicians, cleaning services, catering, etc.) are at the applicant's expense. Applications subject to approval based on space availability and alignment with UGCS/GZK's cultural mission.

Free guidance sessions on how to navigate the often-mysterious world of arts funding—specifically opportunities available in Germany and through German institutions.
T & C: Members receive complimentary consultations on funding application processes, administrative requirements, and information on available grants and opportunities for artists. This service includes guidance on application preparation but does not guarantee funding approval or constitute formal financial advice.
📚 LIBRARY ACCESS: YOUR KNOWLEDGE PLAYGROUND
Dive into our collection of art books, German language learning materials, and examination prep resources. Study, browse, get inspired!
T & C: All members have full access to library materials for in-house use during operational hours. Selected books may be checked out according to library lending policies (duration, quantity, and late fees apply as per posted guidelines). All other materials—including examination preparation resources—must be used on premises. Members are responsible for any lost or damaged materials at replacement cost.

Immerse yourself in Kampala's thriving art world! Connect with artists, explore galleries, attend exclusive tours, participate in hands-on workshops, and stay in the loop with the latest cultural happenings.
T&C: Art Club membership includes access to curated gallery tours, artist conversations, art workshops, cultural event notifications, and related activities. Members receive preferential pricing on all Art Club activities (discount rates vary by activity and will be communicated in advance). Some events may have capacity limitations and require advance registration. Third-party venue fees or materials costs may apply for certain activities at member-discounted rates.
GENERAL TERMS
- Membership Validity: Membership fee is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of payment. Benefits apply for the duration of active membership only. Terms and conditions are subject to periodic review and update—members will be notified of any substantial changes.
- Eligibility: Membership is open to all members of the public. Staff members and consultants of the UGCS are however not eligible to be members.
- Code of Conduct: All members are expected to engage respectfully with staff, fellow members, and our space. We're building a community rooted in mutual respect, curiosity, and cultural exchange.
- Right of Admission: The Board of Director reserves the right to accept and reject member applications at its discretion.

Uganda German Cultural Society (UGCS) - Code of Conduct
1. Mutual Respect and Dignity All members shall treat fellow members, guests, and the general public with respect, courtesy, and dignity regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, or social status. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, or any form of intimidation will not be tolerated.
2. Legal Compliance Members must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations in all society activities and representations. Any illegal activity conducted in the name of or during society functions is strictly prohibited.
3. Adherence to Internal Policies All members are required to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the society's constitution, by-laws, policies, and procedures. Ignorance of society rules does not excuse non-compliance.
4. Integrity and Ethical Conduct Members shall conduct themselves with honesty and integrity at all times. Engagement in fraud, forgery, misrepresentation, embezzlement, or any other dishonest practices is grounds for immediate disciplinary action or expulsion.
5. Protection of Institutional Reputation Members must refrain from any conduct or activity that may bring disrepute, harm, or negative publicity to the society. This includes inappropriate behavior on social media, public forums, or any platform where the member may be associated with the society.
6. Conflict of Interest Declaration Members must promptly disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest that may arise in society matters, including but not limited to financial interests, personal relationships, or external affiliations that could influence their judgment or decisions.
7. Financial Accountability and Transparency All financial transactions must be conducted transparently and in accordance with established financial policies. Members handling society funds must maintain accurate records and be prepared to account for all financial activities upon request.
8. Confidentiality and Data Protection Members shall respect the confidentiality of sensitive society information and personal data of other members. Unauthorized disclosure, misuse, or breach of confidential information is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action.
9. Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity Members shall promote and celebrate cultural diversity while being sensitive to different cultural practices, beliefs, and traditions. Activities should be inclusive and welcoming to all, avoiding cultural appropriation or any practices that may offend or marginalize any group.
