Azulato Children’s Festival 2022
Home »
After a long Covid-19 break we finally brought back Azulato in October 2022! This edition was held at the Kiwatule recreational centre- a beautiful green space, perfect for children.
It was a full day event. The workshops started in the morning until the evening hours. We had a huge variety on workshops this year as well as we included the sports factors. As usual we partnered with local artists, NGOs and individual.
The sports hub was conducted by Soccer without borders, Cheza Sports (Afro Games), FAST (Gymnastics) and Students without borders (Lacrosse). Then we had a Hip-Hop Hub where children where able to be part of a Afrohouse dance workshop by RTG, a tricking and beatboxing workshop by Pista Art Center and a breaking class by Floor Motion who came all the way from Gulu. For the visual art Hub we had partners like Reminac Studios, Ibua Lounge, Utalii Creative, Tribe Uganda, Manzuru String Art and more. For Fashion & Design we partnered with FAAM Club. Not to forget the Mad Scientist who blew us all away with his fun and educative show.
The DJ for the day was DJ Breezy with our two MCs. Highlight of the dance were several dance performances from local Children’s NGOs and the performance of Ring Rapper Ratata.
To round up the event, we also invited local arts & crafts makers to showcase and sell their art work.
It was a fun day to come together and celebrate childhood. Enjoying different kinds of workshop to find out where are their interests and to nurture their talents.
Stay tuned for Azulato 2023! More workshops, more fun, different location but twice as fun!
