An evening of games, film and karaoke
Home »

On 5 December 2025, the library sponsored a student engagement activity designed to support informal German language interaction while allowing students to connect with one another outside the classroom The event was structured around three main activities: board games, a movie screening, and karaoke.
Board games were available throughout the session and encouraged small-group interaction and casual participation. The movie screening provided a shared viewing experience, while the karaoke session later in the evening allowed interested students to take part in a more interactive and social activity. Attendance remained steady across the different segments of the event, with students engaging in one or more activities based on their interests.

The event supported student interaction outside of academic spaces and contributed to a positive, relaxed environment. Observations from the activity indicate that this format is suitable for encouraging participation without requiring prior experience or commitment.

With modest adjustments—such as refining the schedule, expanding activity options, or hosting the event on a recurring basis—similar engagement activities could be developed further. Overall, the event served as a functional model for future library-sponsored student engagement initiatives.
