Creative AI Hackathon

We partnered up with Martin Kharumwa for a Creative AI Hackathon. 25 artists from different disciplines collaborated at the Afropocene studio, as well as remotely, during an experimental 3-day creative hackathon session. The goal of the project was to demystify AI generative art, and invite contemporary artists to participate in creating a successful project using the AI tools available in the market today.
The animal kingdom has long been a creative reference and inspiration to image making, dating back to the cave paintings made by our ancestors, to our present day broadcast media channels dedicated to documenting wildlife in its natural habitat. The project explored tools like generative Artificial Intelligence to create images inspired and informed by research on the effects climate change has on the animal kingdom.
